Davide La Porta

I was born and raised in Catania, Sicily. Living at the foot of Mount Etna it’s been sometimes scary, due to explosions and lava flows but it has made me so proud and passionate about it. I did learn how to ski on Mount Etna and when you are up on the ski slopes and you can nearly touch the sea it does feel unbelievable.

I love to share my time with people that are passionate about travelling, that want to learn new cultures and they want to have fun. That’s why I decided to become a Tour Leader.

I love Sicily because it is authentic, crazy and charming, is where traditions still matter, is where people love to share their stories and backgrounds. Sicilians are a melting pot of ancient cultures and traditions that have made us unique.

 

I want travellers to explore and learn all the different cultures Sicily has to offer, from Unesco world heritage sites to the simple life of a local person. 

By an open attitude our travellers will understand our traditions and behaviours, by open and honest conversations they will get a better picture of Sicily and what it means to be Sicilian.

 

I’d love to discuss controversial topics such as the impact the Sicilian Mafia still has, young Sicilian emigration issues, Immigration from North Africa and many more.
